Chuncheon. By bus (Dongseoul bus terminal - east seoul bus terminal line #2) or train from Seoul from Cheongyanggni station. |

| Jeonju (in North Jeolla Province) has a nice folk museum and traditional hanok village, as well as plenty of awesome traditional restaurants and teashops. Jeonju bibimbap rocks! |

Amnyeon-do. About three hour drive from Seoul, located to it's south and west.
Best beaches I've seen in Korea so far (ten times better than sokcho) very clean and QUIET. The peacefulness is the thing you notice most, at night all you can hear are crickets and frogs, it's awesome. Surrounded by paddy fields and forested areas. Not much to do there, but good natural beauty and very peaceful and no light pollution so you can see the stars. And amazing seafood if you like seafood.
Another poster suggested Chuncheon, which has good forest for walking in and small waterfalls and such. Plenty of lakes and greenery. Bit more to do also, as there is a kind of town center with entertainments and a msall amusement funfair. Amnyeondo would be a better experience though I think if you want a laid back, by the beach, away from it all feel... |
