I was wondering if any of you public school teachers out there have been encouraged by your school administrators to attend/present at KOTESOL YL & Teens SIG Conference?

I would inquire about you hagwon teachers, but I know better Smile

I actually asked my boss if he would reimburse us train fare and he flat out said "no". Perhaps if they made it full of Korean BS and an overnight stay the education office would have foot the bill for everything.

Ask him if he wants you to be a better teacher and suggest that encouraging or motivating teachers with self-development would be good for his school.

agreed. We had a wonderful time in Sokcho! Everyone was warm and had a lot of great comments, ideas, and questions regarding last meeting's topic. Personally, I had a wonderful time, am happy that I joined KOTESOL, and can't wait until the next meeting.

For those of you that are serious about teaching, love teaching, are interested in new ideas, or just want to meet people, I suggest going for a good time. Very Happy

I'm not in a public school, but my boss did encourage me to go.
