|

Sorry to all veterans of this site that have probably read and answered this question a million times, but oh well.
I teach in a very small town with very few english speakers and NO english bookstores. I have just started teaching and have very few resources so I'm looking to head into Seoul or Incheon in search of the best teaching books I can find.
Where can I find these? Whats the name of a good one? There must be a beaut out there somewhere.
And also, what book comes well recommended? I have heard "Headway", but really cant afford more than one....I teach middle and High, but they dont seem all that capable, I'm guessing because their town is so isolated.
Any info would be great.
Im sure many newbies reading will appreciate the info also.

Kim and Johnsons, Kangnam Station, exit #5, Seoul. About 2 blocks on the right side, 3rd floor. Books, videos, posters and games in English. All English speaking staff. Sign up for a discount card. They also can order any book. |

I've been to Kim & Johnson and their selection is pretty good. There is a Kyobo bookstore over that way that is within walking distance. I'd explain how to get there from K&J but I'm terrible with directions. |

What The Book in Itaweon sells used books of every kind. If you just want to look at various books and get some cheap ones, go there.
Man Chris should give us discounts for plugging his store. |

I've been to Kyobo and Bandi & Luni's. I couldn't find much that was useful for teaching kids. Their English education books tended to be very academic. |

For ESL teaching books, go to English Plus. They have the best selection I have seen anywhere. They also give 20% off to teachers. They have locations in Seoul and Daegu. I think they have other locations. Have a look at their website with a Korean.

There's two in the basement of Jongak station. The one I like is called Yangpoon, or something like that. There are tons of books. I use the New Interchange series for my high schoolers. I use it as a guide and then adjust it for the level of the class.
There's also a Bandi & Luni's down there. |
