Hello!
I am new to this site and found it when I was looking for advice on where to seek medical attention. I saw a doctor in February and had missed work for one day for this appt (previously excused from work for this), I paid out of pocket. I am a healthy female but did have some labs return as slightly abnormal - nothing that will affect me for a number of years if ever. My employer is now wanting me to produce a doctor's note from my visit stating I had an appt that day (for accountability of where I was), that I am healthy plus that my labs were okay (since that is what I told them). I sought informal legal advice regarding this requirement and was informed I must produce a medical note (due to my employer being government). I don't consider my medical situation to be any of my employer's business (I had sought genetic counseling given my family history of many cancers). My opinion is it's not the government's business (more specifically, it's not my boss's business although he has taken a great interest in this now - he's an American jerk and out to eat me alive).
I'm not sure I can go back and explain what I want from the clinic I went to and get a note that is not revealing (ie states I had my appt, my labs were normal and that I am healthy). Now I'm considering trying to get a false medical note. Does anybody know of anybody who can help? Does anybody personally know a doctor I can explain my situation to that might be able to help? I'm willing again to pay out of pocket for anything. I'm also considering just going to an international clinic and letting them run a pregnancy test or something and then asking for a note that says something along the lines of "She was seen in Feb for medical appt to discuss labs, seen today for follow up, labs okay, healthy female". But then I also thought a small community clinic might be a better choice as less people would speak English in case my American boss called the clinic requesting more information (he could always find someone who speaks whatever language tho).
Any thoughts or advice? I consider the whole situation ridiculous but feel very strongly my genetics labs are not my boss's business. As it's been made into such a big deal I produce a note, at this point, I'd even be willing to pay a few bucks for a forged note stating I was seen and am healthy.
Please email me at [email protected] if you have any ideas on how I can get a doctor's or clinic's note that states I had an appt in Feb, labs are okay and I am healthy. Any help would be appreciated!! And I probably need to produce this early next week. I'm now wishing I had some shady Korean friends!
Thank you!

Many employers in Korea require a medical background check. Medical privacy in Korea is almost nothing when compared to the US. But, a background check should simply state that you are in good health. Mine had categories like "cardiovascular" with "no problems" next to each category.

Medical checks in Korea may be less private. Often, employers receive a lot of medical info. Some people are able to avoid their details being shared by having the doctor fill out a less revealing document. Each employer may differ on what they request. Also, if you are in a small town and need to visit a doctor for something embarassing, GO TO A DIFFERENT CITY as doctors probably know your school teachers and administation and will talk to them.

To address your question more specifically about getting a doctor's note: Go to the clinic, tell them to write you a note on an official document stating you had an appointment and have them sign it. Unless you are dealing with a very strange clinic, it shouldn't be a problem for them to sign.

If I missed any details in your original post, forgive me, I'm rushing out to eat lunch....
