A friend of mine told me you get buy Doc Martens shoes that are made in China that are pretty good. He bought them at Dongdaemun Stadium. I looked everywhere there and came up with nothing. One lady said they are now at Namdaemun Market. Does anyone know? If I can't find the ones made in China, how much are the ones from the original manufacturer and where would I get those in the Seoul area?

They have them at Lotte Department store at City Hall. I remember seeing them for around $100-$150. Not sure if they were steel toed or not.

There's also a Doc Marten store in COEX (or is it that the Buffalo store sells Docs...) and one on the department store side of Yongsan electronics mart.

I've heard that ALL Doc Marten boots & shoes are Made in China now. I guess the ones Made in England will be collector's items soon.

My buddy said he got some made in China at Dongdaemun for 40,000 won. That's a steal. How did he do that? I looked to see if they still were selling them. I would spend the 100-150,000 won next paycheck since they last for a while.

The pairs I've bought at department stores here were made in Thailand, but they may well be made in China now.

They'da been knockoffs, not the real deal. In other words, they'd probably look right, but fall apart in a couple of months.

My buddy isn't try to please everyone by wearing docs, and he still gets more girls than you can shake a stick at.

Maybe that's why? He's a confident individual, and not a crowd pleaser?

Nothing like a nice pair of 10-eye steel-toed boots to drive the girls crazy.

A cheaper option is to find a less famous brandname. I wear Getta Grips.

I bought some black nappa 8 eyelet boots in Brisbane,um,2 and a half years ago now. They were made in Thailand and are holding up really well.

Soles have hardly gone down,I semi-regularly wax them and the uppers are fine.

Standard Docs tended to wear out quickly in the sole and if they dried out they'd start to crack and there was no coming back from that. Also a devil to wear in.

Used to be a shop in Hyewha.Sizes are a hassle here.UK size 9/US size 10 difficult to get.A bit overpriced too.

Aren't those shoes made by the same company? Why are they significantly cheaper? I want something that lasts.

Hey dude, there's a Doc Marten store in Ilsan on Rodeo Street where all the clothing stores are. It's across from the Indian clothing store. Take bus 150 like you're going to Munsan and you can find it easily. I passed by it last night and it's a small store but I saw a pretty good selection of boots.

Docs have been made in China since 2003 or so, unfortunately.

They're still holding up, the two pairs I've bought since then, and if there's an ABC Mart in Seoul, you'll find some there.
