I changed jobs after finishing a one year contract at a hagwon and moved to a UNI where they don't have the same pension thang.

The thing is, I didn't have to take a visa run because, the way they did it Immi, I just transferred to a different employer and extended my current visa another year. I'd never heard of it being done that way, but my visa is stamped through 2008.

My question is, what do I need to get my hagwon pension back? Does anyone know a number to call?

Knowledgeable Info much appreciated. (Wet blankets please move on).

Your Korean National Pension will remain with the Pension Plan until you leave Korea. You cannot get a refund while you are remaining in the country and have a valid period of sojourn. You can get your refund when you leave Korea (on a one way ticket).

You may want to verify with them that indeed your hakwon paid into it.

I don't have the link handy (on this computer) but I will add it to this post when I get back to my own computer.

link to the national pension office:
