Do most of the unis, hagwons, public schools teach with their own made textbooks and study guides or ones you can buy at the book store?

it varies. at my chain hagwon the korean teachers use the in house books. they tried to get me to use them too, but after getting through one book i said "these are rubbish, i'm not using these again" so now i just use off the shelf books.
