Cheonan is a small town, about 500,000 people. You can walk across it in about an hour. Once you've seen the bus terminal area, you've seen it all. Due to the KTX and the #1 subway lines passing through, you will eventually find yourself racing up to Seoul or Suwon every other weekend to keep from going crazy.
The upside is that yo'll have a great opportunity to take up some new hobbies, as well as save a lot of money due to not having anything there to spend it on.
"Ghangnam"? Do you mean Gangnam in Seoul?
If so: Gangnam is a major business area of Seoul. Lots of money flying through there. Everything you could possibly want from big city living is either there or within easy reach via public transportation. You will not find yourself bored in Seoul.
The downsides are that the kids who live there tend to be rich spoiled brats, and your hagwon will roll over for them to keep the parents happy. And since it's so expensive there, you'll probably get stuck in the crappiest, cheapest apartment villa they can find for you. Also, the nightlife opportunities in Seoul are so many that you may find yourself more broke than flush with money. |
