My friend's laptop is dying, possibly from a failed hard drive, but maybe a motherboard problem... The Laptop is an HP from 1995...
Is it possible to find somewhere/someone to repair it? Maybe in Yongsan or Itaewon?
Any helpful advice is appreciated ^_^ |

For the amount of money they will charge you, you're better off getting your own hard drive and reinstalling everything. That is, assuming the hard drive is easy enough to get to (many old models don't offer simple access).
If the computer is that old, and it's a mainboard issue, I highly doubt you'll be able to get it repaired at all, or for any reasonable amount of money. |

1995!!! I think that's a record for oldest computer reported broken on Dave's. Not that there's anything wrong with using an old computer.........It's just that your friend could maybe be stoical and surmise that he/she got their money's worth out of that one and it's time to move on!
A repair on a laptop that old could easily be more than 500,000 if anyone could even find parts to do it. A nice new laptop, made in the 21st Century! could be bought for as little as 750,000. |
