(I run XP home, and try varied browsers!)

Only on certain webpages, the hangul does not appear as on every other site.

It is the same for Korean named files and mp3's.
Does anyone know the way round this, apart from installing Korean XP?

I tried the various encoding options within the browsers, but I think the problem may lie deeper?

Hopefully...

Start/control panel/regional and language options/advanced

Set language for non-unicode programs to Korean. This should be a sticky.

But, bear in mind you'll have to change the settings again when you want to run things in English.

not true.

Excuse me? I'm afraid it is true in some circumstances. When a program chooses a default installation language, it will automatically choose Korean if that is the code.

For some sites the problem is on their end. I've been to several sites which are not properly encoded and no combination of browsers/settings could make sense of them.
