I often read interesting information on Dave's and I learn about things I previously didn't know. ttompatz is especially helpful in clarifying immigration/pension/work issues and always has a link to his info. Other posters tell anecdotes, and in the telling, I find myself thinking about things I'd never thought of before.

Of course, there is a fair share of negativity on the board, posters going after each other, name-calling, flame wars, and these are from both "whiners" and "apologists" alike.

I was talking to few co-workers (foreign teachers) about a thread I had read here, and they told me they had checked out Dave's a few times, but they were put off by the negativity.

Why don't your co-workers post here?
