Apologies for mentioning this but does anyone else agree that some avatars used on here are a little inappropriate? Like many others, I access Dave's at my public school staff room, and there are always many teachers walking by and occasionally checking what I'm doing. When they see pictures of Korean women in bikinis etc on my screen along with writing, it's only natural they'd get the wrong idea. I just don't think things like this do our reputation any good.

if you use Firefox you can block all external images by clicking tools- options-- content and then checking the appropriate boxes for images. Other than that, if someone's avatar is really out of line, send a pm to the user about it.

Maybe you could save your rep a bit by doing something more productive while at school?

I do plenty of productive things while at school and, while working all day on "productive" things may be good for some people, others enjoy a break every now and then. Besides, Dave's can be very useful - especially in the Job forum where people often discuss lesson plans/links to resources.

As a Liverpool supporter, I find your avatar massively offensive. Smile

i didn't see what was wrong with two pitbulls making love then the male pitbull barfing, the female running away and then the male pitbull eating his barf.

but one of the mods did. love between two pitbulls and then a practical use of vomit - what could possibly be inappropriate about that?

If you have a problem with this site then you should fix it yourself.
This site is already on of the most sanitized, sterilized, scrutinized
and repressed websites I have ever seen. Now you want us to have little
kitten avatars.

Follow the instructions below for image-free browsing and stop wasting
our time.

Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, 6
From the Tools menu select Internet Options
Click on the Advanced tab
Scroll down to the Multimedia section and remove the checkmark next to Show Pictures
Press OK
Netscape 4
From the Edit menu select Preferences
Click on the Advanced tab
Remove the checkbox next to Automatically Load Images
Press OK
Netscape 6, 7
From the Edit menu select Preferences
Open the Privacy & Security tab and then click on the Images tab
Select Do Not Load Any Images

I guess it depends on the amount of bikini showing... I say if its published in Korean magazines go for it.. But, I also think we should all be mature enough to use good taste and judgement..

I made this post in order to see if any other users agreed with me on this matter, and to bring the issue up for discussion. Such an aggressive style of posting is what turns people away from using forums like Dave's. I suggest you lighten up a bit and be a bit more assertive.
