I'm just curious if anyone has gone to yongsan to have their Ipod battery replaced? I have an OLD 1st or 2nd (not sure) 40 gig audio-only Ipod, and the battery has finally given out on me, and I've read online that you can have the battery replaced quite cheaply.
I'm just curious if anyone has done it and how much it was.
Thanks. |

I don't think you can just go into an apple store and get it replaced. I asked the guys at the apple store in Namdaemun whether they could do it and they told me I'd have to go to an apple service center, not a store. They gave me a list of service centers but I don't have that list handy. I'd give apple a call and ask them where to take it.
Oh yeah, beware, you may not get your ipod back when you send it in. You'll get an ipod but not neccessarily yours so back up everything. |

Sorry this is a little vague as it was a year ago, but I went to an apple service centre on the top floor (6th?) of the older yongsan building. It was quite a big/ professional place and they serviced all sort of things there and were an approved apple service centre. I can't remember the name of the place, but I was pointed in their direction by one of the apple "stores" on the 1st/ground floor when my ipod gave up the ghost.
No idea on cost of battery replacement sorry. |

I wrote this blog post a few months ago.

It was really simple and much cheaper than paying someone to do it for you. |
