On Saturday, March 17th at 9:00pm the puck will drop for the first of an annual ice hockey game between The Daegu Thunderbirds vs The Seoul Rocky Mountain Tavern Cheifs!

The game will be called the St.Patricks Day Pot of Gold Challenge. Even though that there will be only one game, were hoping to turn this into a tournament with inviting teams all across Asia in the years to come.
There will be a 50/50 draw as well as a draw for a chance to win W50,000 voucher from the Thunderbird Lounge. In order to win the voucher you must purchase a ticket and have your name drawn and shoot the puck into the net from the Red Line.

So a little recap for you all.....

What: Ice Hockey Game!

Where: Daegu Ice Arena, located behind the Samsung Lions Baseball Stadium.

When: Saturday, March 17th (the greatest day of the year), 9:00pm.

Who: The Daegu Thunderbirds vs The Seoul Rocky Mountain Tavern Cheifs and YOU!

Why: Because it is going to be a good time and a great way to kick off the St. Patty's Day festivities.

How much: Free! Free! Free!

Alcohol: At this point in time were looking into beer sales, we will keep you posted....

Post Party: Where else? The Thunderbird Lounge where Moose and his clan of Irishmen (ie, Mark!) will be happy to serve you!

If any of you were there at the last game back in November, you are well aware of how much of a good night overall it was. The game was crazy with the RMT Cheifs either leading or tied with the Thunderbirds, when in the final 4 minutes of the game the T-Birds had finally took the lead and won!

The turnout was great with approximatley 100 folks in the crowd, and for many of you Aussies and Kiwis it was your first ice hockey game ever. And the after party at the Bird....well, put it this way, birthday boy Sparky never did put his pants back on!!!!! Laughing

The Daegu Thunderbirds look to once again host the RMT Cheifs in style, and with that in mind, it is the fans that came to the game that had alot to do with making it so much fun. Hence, we would like to do it again with you out to join us!

ARE YOU IN!!!!

Well obviously Ice Hockey is the best way to celebrate St Paddy's day (patty?)
As a wee lad growing up in Ireland my daddy(whose name coincidentally is Paddy) would often talk about mythical irish legends such as Cuchullain and their prowess on the ice.

How about we have a big sumo wrestling tourny for Independence day and a Aussie Rules stand off tor (oh) Canada day. That shoud be fun.

Well, I am pretty sure you are going to lose this time Daegu. We are sending down a much, much better team this time. Unfortunately, again, I can't make it down for the damn game. Maybe next time though.

Hey Geddes, to bad you can't make it. We had a kick-azz after party the game. I know you got Lee coming down, but I also heard about another particular player coming down that has alot of game. Win or lose, either way were all looking forward to it.
We picked up two more players (to replace two that left), but for the most part are team is the same.

ps, go Sens!

Yeah, I was actually thinking of coming, and then all of a sudden we had a set roster and no more spots, so my procrastination didn't pay off. Laughing If you guys come up to Seoul, I will play for sure. Actually, one of the guys on our team is opening up a bar of his own right near the rink.

I think I know who it may be...but with that in mind, I guess you guys got an immediate watering hole after the game. Were definitely up in Seoul for your tourney in July. We want to come up and play you guys too, but your Sunday morning time slot is very unappealing due to the drink!

But, we have washrooms conveniently located right next to the ice surface (shorter walk than at your rink in Daegu) besides you could always just end up drinking all night.. just have a before party Saturday night at the RMT rather than the after party and then you could go to the RMT to have a truck stop breakfast Smile we do it all the time.. and Sparky never did find his pants... i'm sure he'll be more cautious this time round..

Nice...Seeing as you didn't come last time. Were looking forward to having you down here. The Yager is already on ice! Should be fun, and if it is anything like the last game, it will rock!
DK
ps, PEIGuy...come on man! I am down with truckers breakfast, but playing drunk or hungover! Sucks. I guess I am an old man now! Smile I prefer my beer and smoke after a game, not before.
