Saudi Kidnap, Rape Victim Faces Lashing for 'Crime' of Being Alone With Man Not Related to Her

A 19-year-old Saudi woman who was kidnapped, beaten and gang raped by seven men who then took photos of their victim and threatened to kill her, was sentenced under the country's Islamic-based law to 90 lashes for the "crime" of being alone with a man not related to her.

Again a face, ignorance showing its head. Blindly labeling that which he does not know, a label of sicko that resonates among the ears of the simple without thinking.

Could it be true, a misunderstanding of cultures is the fault of the person seeing it under the light of ignorance, why not? It could be less important than thinking about what is real. What is factual. What is in the heart of every man.

heheh you had me:)

But yes, Im sure DD will be on here to defend this. Afterall, we are the ones in the wrong for failing to understand and accept their "culture". if you can even call a bunch of sadistic animals praying to a drunkard whoremonger and slave owner (not to mention child molesting pirate and war monger) and a fucking rock from space and running around killing people with guns and bombs and planes a culture.

Im sure ddeubel can, but some people enjoy swimming in ceptic tanks.

This is the board that routinely accepts/conmdones/excuses rape. Its funny that some people have a problem with Saudi rape but when it happens in the West its just women/lesbians trying to get back at the poor man. This board is messed up.

That said, Rape is wrong and any man or woman convicted of rape, child pornography, molestation, sexual assault, sexual battery, etc should be sentenced to life in prison on their first conviction.

Having a discussion about what exactly constitutes rape, and how it can be investigated is fine. Questioning the number of apparent false-accusations that result in convictions is fine. Saying rape is A-OK isn't fine.

Also, expressing horror at the plight of women in Saudi, the most backwards and barbaric society on earth, is also fine. There is no contradiction.

I have never, ever read someone on this site say rape is ok. Not once. I have read men question some of the procedural aspects of the legal response to alleged rape, and given that we ought to be innocent until proven guilty, that seems fair enough to me.

This woman was sent to jail for being raped. Do all you islam defenders get that?

I never defended Islam, I hate all religions equally.

There is a fine line between defending yourself against rape charges and the many people on this board who actively defend rapists and argue that sentences should be lighter.

Saudi Arabia is a backward little hole that once it runs out of oil will return to a tribe of desert bound, camel eating, savages.

I wasn't speaking of you re:islam.

I agree about the fine line, and rape should be a heavily punished crime. A short set of anecdotal examples on how our justice system makes fully 0% sense. I know a kid who sold a lil'pot and got tossed in jail for 5 years. 5 YEARS. For pot (though, it was his second offense) A "friend" of mine threw molitov (sp) cocktails at buildings in my hometown and went to jail for 18 months. And a dude at my uni raped two girls, violently, and went to jail for 8 months (but he got his arse properly handed to him when he got out). It is all a mess. We punish what we shouldn't, and don't punish enough what we should.

But Saudi is a whole other world of crazy. And I look forward to them returning to roaming Arabia with camels looking for tribes to fight.

I have never seen that on this board. Ever. You're going to have to show us.

8 months for rape? Thats just sick. So what happened after he got out? Im all for this sort of vigilante justice, because sometimes the courts *beep* up. I do hope somebody gets to Homolka. Talking about rape, thats one person who deserves to get violentally raped and killed. Is she out yet?

It was a fun night, actually. My closest friend in high school lived across from the rapist. He had two younger sisters and felt a tad uncomfortable with the rapist being home, across the street. By the by, my friend was an American national who had just returned home from US Marine boot camp in 29palms Cali. He was a tad crazy. After the redneck bar we were at closed, my buddy went to the rapists house, and sat on his lawn waiting for him to get home. When he did, he was, uh, assaulted, quite horribly. I was there, and drunk as all hell, but I was quite surprised that the police, who knew of the whole thing (small town Alberta...news travels fast) just let it happen. And now all is well. The rapist is back in jail now (guess the crime?).

Homolka is out, and living in Montreal.
