Hello everyone. I just want to extend my sincerest apologies to you for my being a complete douche. I understand what I did what wrong and my posts here often times have been less than civil, quite foul at times. I just want to take this opportunity to say I'm sorry. As a newbie in Korea, I felt confused and shocked by the very different culture. You see, I have traveled all over Europe and North America, so going to Korea, in my eyes seemed easy. I was totally unprepared for the whole experience. Looking back on it now, I could have done a lot more to give Korea, as well as my school a chance. I was scared and weak-hearted at the time, I admit, which is why I fled. Some of the comments you have posted on here about me were hurtful, yes, but I appreciate them nonetheless because they made me see the situation from a whole new perspective. Your comments helped me mature. So, I just want to take this time to once again say I'm sorry. I do plan on going back to Asia within a year, whether it be Japan, Taiwan, or even back to Korea. I have learned more in the past 2 months than a lot of my peers learn in years. I thank you.

You can't make everyone happy- Don't worry about what people say in Dave's land. People tried to gang up on me (I contemplated retiring from this forum), but I continued.....
Everyone deserves a release from the stress of things once in a while, you're ok, dude.

Again, if you want to go back to Korea to give it another try, just see what you might be required to do and do it, sometimes the best things happen the second time around....good luck, mate

Dear Travelous,

We had somethin special, you & me

& I just dont think it will ever be quite the same

that 85% Loser in Korea thread really broke my heart good

& I just cant keep going on like this

it is too late for apologies now

& breakin it off hurts me more than it will hurt you, believe me

didnt you know of the power the people of Daves have in this part of the world? We run the Eastern Hemisphere

one word from us & you will never work in Asia again!

I dont know when Im gonna get over thisI thought we had somethin real

You keep saying Ive changed and I want to believe you, but it just hurts so bad

How could you do me like that, Travelous? How could you do me like that?

this apology is rubbish. the mods made him do it, just like they made spinoza apologize when he was being an idiot to everyone.

the lack of ego in the apology is commendable: few have the guts to say it and that unreservedly

kuddos to you for its sincerity

(though it still seems to me like a sock trying to repair itself)

As one of the people that didn't ride him in his origonal post (Runner) and went easy on him I have mixed feelings about it. I told him that he could redeem himself if he decided to come back to Korea and tried to be encouraging.

I realize some people were downright mean to him, which I disagree with. But when he started posting the crap about 85% of foreign teachers being losers, that's when I became irrate. I admit I was one of the people who jumped on him and the mods to do something (and certainly I wasn't the only one either).

Personally I don't think the mods would make him apologize, but they would probably suggest it. My feeling is to wait and see how the person acts after this. If he is sorry for what he's done, his behavior should reflect that.
