Some very major differences exist with, or without, your existence, seeing that I'm in 'A Brave New World' and many here have lapsed into the 'savage' mentality of this novel's character symbolizing the world back in Korea. Here's the list of comparisons between your world and mine.
Taiwan:
*No staring whatsoever.
*No fighting or arguing, and that at 3:00a.
*Much safer drivers.
*No cutting in line.
*No pushing or bumping.
*No 'garlic' breath.
*Not a one wobbling drunk.
*No rudeness.
*Normal speech. No sounding like they're yelling.
*More variety, foreigners to chat with.
*Much more realistic work. That is, as a teacher.
*Etc., etc., etc.,. . .
Korea:
*Staring constantly. And pointing.
*Quarreling all the time.
*Pushing, bumping, cutting in line.
*Terrible breath.
*Full of drunks.
*Monotony, no variety.
*Easy work, lacking structure, undisciplined.
*Ear-breaking speech.
*Dangerously dumb drivers.
*Few foreigners, except Canadians.
*Terrible apartments.
Hey, it's a brave new world. Figure out who Epsilon is.
Sorry folks, but I was in Korea and have found these differences to be 100% true. |

| Could be true..I have never been to Taiwan...but then I haven't been to every single country on the planet to compare. Happiness in Korea also depends on where live in Korea. |

| The Taiwan lists omits the horrendous pollution in that slimepit and the cheapskate nature of Chinese. |

Blah blah. We get it.
Yay Taiwan.
Korea Boo.
This is what, your 4th itchy panty thread?
If you're so happy there, why do you spend so much time in the Korea site? I've spent enough time in Taiwan to know I don't want to live there.
But hey, good on you. |

Not to mention disgusting bathrooms (public and private); garlic breath; extremely dangerous drivers; probably more corrupt employers and population-at-large; and, cockroach-infested apartments that, save the luxury ones out of the financial reach of teachers, are not heated in the chilly winters. |

My favorite part about Taiwan - waiting for the garbage trucks to come by and having to put it in the truck myself. I felt like I was learning a new skill.
No, the best thing about living in Taiwan was retuning to Korea. |

It was just a show that followed the lives of Canadian English teachers working and living in Taipei. It went on for a few seasons. It was a Canadian show, so if you aren't Canadian, you probably haven't seen it. I think it was filmed back in the mid- to early 90's, but they still show it in Canada, but it isn't discovery. I think it was on Bravo.
I remember one girl had the sweetest apartment, while this other guy lived in a room that could have passed for the morgue at a hospital. |
