Aloha
I am currently preparing to head over to Korea in about 6-8 months. Most likely I will be teaching in Seoul or DaeGu.
Currently I train in Tae Kwon Do and plan to continue doing so after I arrive in Korea. I personally see no problem with this.
In addition I also practice Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts. I seriously doubt I will find qualified instructors or organized training for either art.
This raised 2 questions
1) Are there people interested in these arts in Korea?
2) If I wanted to hold unformal training sessions, how hard would it be to find a location? Do most health clubs have rooms avail for members? Are there a large number of parks available for training (weather permitting of course)? Are most Dojang owners opened minded, would I be able to use space at an established Dojang?
Any feed back would be really appreciated.
Also to anyone who has trained MA in the West and currently trains in the ROK what the differences you notice? |
