|
|
I have worked at my elementary for over a year now. Apparently I was supposed to pay for lunch last year but no one mentioned it until today I asked how much but my co-teacher didn't have an answer...
So...Do you pay? If so, how much? |

| Mine is automatically deducted from my salary, and I was told it costs 2,500 원 for each meal, which is actually quite cheap. |

Hmm. I have never paid at middle school, and I know it's not deducted. I'm not sure I want to ask though... |

| Mine too. 2,500 won. All teachers have to sign a card. I can also bring friends to have lunch there from time to time but obviously have to pay an extra 2,500 per person for that. |

| I have been informed that I will have my meals deducted but I am not sure how much it will be. If it is 2,500 then that is a pretty good price considering the amount of food they provide. |

For 2 years I didn't have to pay it was part of my contract. Then the principal and vice principal coughed up for it. The last two years they decided I should pay. I decided that I wouldn't. That was always a benefit working in the public schools in our area and they are whittling away at them from time to ttime.
I said no thanks I bring my own lunch now. Food is okay but not great. Certainly not worth paying for it. So I am brown bagger as it were.

In my first school they made me pay but I think I was supposed to go to the admin office to pay, but no one ever said anything to me after the first month, so I didn't volunteer to pay. My co-T constantly forgot about my existence (I had my own classroom) so it wasn't a biggy to me.
At my second and present school I pay and it's taken from my bank account every month. Fine by me. |

Ditto.
I was eating the school lunch every day before Christmas and was content to pick at the food ( I don't like fried foods, sweets or plain rice) but since the holidays I no longer eat meat....so it's pretty pointless now.
I had to sign waiver forms to stop the automatic withdrawls, but overall I much prefer "brown bagging it". |

They told me mine would be deducted. But they asked me for my OK on deducting the cost from my pay.
So far, I like what they've been serving. Then again, I like most Korean food. |

At my afterschool program I was told I'd have to pay 30,000 Won to eat before I begin teaching. I would have to eat with the other teachers and decided I probably couldn't get myself out of bed to go eat lunch before teaching.
Now, my co-teacher has been bringing me a sandwich for 6 months which I can no longer stand to eat anc can't find it within myself(not yet) to tell her I don't want it anymore. I take it to my job at night and igve it away! |

| I've been told that I'll be paying 40-45,000 won a month for lunch. Which is pretty good considering.... |
