Illegal Immigrants to Get Help Returning Home
By Kim Tong-hyung
Staff Reporter
The government is to introduce a program that will assist illegal immigrants wanting to return home by setting up travel arrangements and funding the cost, the Ministry of Justice said Monday.
The movie came Monday after Justice Minister Kim Sung-ho met with Brunson McKinley, the director general of the Helsinki-based International Organization for Migration (IOM), last week.
``Kim consulted McKinley on developing a proper method for the Korean government to help illegal immigrants return home voluntarily, a ministry official said Monday.
``The two shared ideas on the governments policy on immigrants and one of the ideas discussed was introducing an Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) scheme, he said.

| Apparantly there are thousands of Chinese illegals in dentention in the US awaiting deportation but the Chinese government refuses to take them back. What will Korea do if China won't have them back? |

If Korea was smart, it would get them jobs working in restaurants in those Chinatowns that lack actual Chinese people. Think about all the Chinese Americans and Eastern European Americans that are using their language skills to create trade and start businesses.
But no. In Korea the Chinese are not a resource. The Chinese are mountain stealing dogs. |
