Ok, I have to do some shameless self-pimping. As some of you know, I'm a DJ/ Producer living in Seoul. Anyway, there's an international ranking system for DJs called The DJ List. Currently, I'm in the top four for Korea, under the name "SuperAcidJax."

If you like electronic dance music go visit my podcast page at http://superacidjax.podbean.com/

Here, you can listen to my current dance music podcast. If you like what you hear, please go vote for "SuperAcidJax" at http://www.thedjlist.com/vote. You can vote each calender month..

I really appreciate it. If you are interested in EDM, PM me, or visit my myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/superacidjaxmusic.

I hope we can generate more of an EDM community among the expats here and put Seoul on the EDM map. If any of you are DJs or Producers, I'd love to hear what you're working on!

Regards,

Brian
aka SuperAcidJax

Sasha does play here at least once a year, Nick Warren played here New Year's Eve with Andy Moor (another UK DJ.) There's some good talent going to be coming here in 2007.. My LA-based management company will be bringing some major names to Korea later in 2007..

Seoul is slowly getting on the map. I'll start posting more show information on Dave's, so perhaps the scene will get even better!

All I do in my spare time at work is listen to psytrance radio. Please post any news of upcoming events. Are you a resident anywhere?

I'm working on the residency.. there are two places that are possibilities. Currently, I just play single shows here and there. I was formerly a resident at Houston's M-Bar and also Six Degrees Lounge and in the afterhours world.. which is a circus. I've also played the Red Club in Hollywood and the Standard Hotel lounge on Sunset..

I haven't been playing in Seoul for too long.. however soon I should have some regular nights..

I'll be at the Garden tonight and then the Cage in the very early morning.. Should be good times..

you need a "some" button

I like some electronic music: NIN, DJ Mystic, Oakenfold, Tiesta... but most of the stuff that is played in clubs is (to me) just a rather long circuitous beat.

Why has nobody mentioned kiwiboy_nz_99? Travesty!

This will shock some people, but I adore a good electronica dance track. When I was your age, they used to call them 12 inch remixes. Grew up on House music C1989/90. S-Express anyone?

I dont like it. To me there's nothing valuable or redeeming in this sort of music, but to each his own, I guess.

Aphrodite was there in 2004. He was at some dingy club in Hongdae.. Good times!

Bad Boy Bill is the master. Dj Yoda comes close (but he isn't really electronic I guess).

i've gone from 1. wanting to pound the shit out of every DJ i've met to 2. being shown by a DJ friend that there is some real artistry to it to...

3. having the opinion that it has artistic merit, just don't play the crap around me because it makes me feel like a lab rat.
