|
|
My girlfriend is giving me the hardest time because I told her when we moved here that the shoe shopping was amazing. Unfortunately I didn't factor in that she wears a US Size 10-11 (Korean 260 or 270 I guess). We've seen a few tennis shoes these sizes but she always wants the cute pink heels, etc. Any chance or should I tell her to stop asking (and getting subsequently laughed at...)?
Thanks. |

| I'm a size 10 and the only shoes I've bough here in the last 3 or so years have been men's shoes. |

Me too. I bought six pairs of shoes when I went home last month... should last me through next summer! |

Never fear! Lady Sasquatch is here!
My feet are even bigger than your ladyfriend's, but I am well shod. Well, relatively well. There is a store in Itaewon that stocks pretty shoes for the canoe-footed girl.
It's quite close to the station, facing the Hamilton Hotel, before you get to Seoul Pub (does that make sense?)
The big shoes are on the right wall, near the back of the store. The guys who own it seem to speak a little English. Good luck! |

You can have shoes made here, but they are generally crap. Sorry, she's SOL (and so are you! )
When I need shoes I order from eBay. Even with the shipping, it's often cheaper than buying in a store anyway. And, if they don't fit, you can always resell them! |

| I wear US women's size 9 and have a terrible time here. I can find shoes that are long enough (255-260), but they're never wide enough in the toe. I still keep my eyes open when I'm out shopping, but I never get my hopes up. |

| Ha. I'm a size 8 (250 in Korea) and I hardly ever find anything that fits. I don't know how on earth you guys would manage to find anything. |

I'm wrong. I had another look, and it's past Seoul Pub and Nashville's, set back from the street a little, in a shop called Bandolinos. You can buy a variety of styles in large sizes, from companies like Banana Republic. If you like the Bandolino's brand shoes, but you can't find the size or colour you want, they'll make if for you. Hooray! |

You told her that the shoe shopping was amazing?????? My feet are small and I can find plenty of shoes that fit me, but I still do all my shoe shopping whenever I'm out of the country. |

I'm a size 9 myself and I have never been able to successfully buy footwear in Korea.
I'm in Bangkok now and the shoe shopping is awesome....maybe she should wait until she has some vacation time. Just came from Vietnam and they have all kinds of sizes there as well, and at much better prices |
