That had to be one big put-on from start to finish, and those had to be paid actors.
The helpless, put-upon "mother" looked positively demented. Yes, yes, it's cruel to make fun of people for their looks, but I'm serious here: she looked as though she had, along with her weight condition, a "developmental condition". And I'll bet she, the actress, was chosen for that. Makes her look more pathetic, I suppose.
The skanky "daughter" looked straight out of Rent-A-Ho, but was in fact an actress playing a 15-yr-old daughter straight out of Rent-A-Ho. And what's up with her prancy, wiggly, little gangsta-girl shtick? She doesn't even appear to be of the same ethnic group or dialect as her supposed "mother".
The presenter... wft? Some wrinkly, gasping old Hugh Hefner-lookalike for the 2000s?
That studio audience... How is it that all --- and I do mean ALL -- of these trashy American TV talk shows have the same feral-looking audience? That can't be just a randomly sampled cross-section of the American public, can it? I think it's the exact same paid "audience" members, they're actors too. And they just go from one trashy talk show to the next and get flown all over the country to be there in the seats whenever the cameras start rolling. |

'Kangaroo generation' grows as graduates stay jobless
Job market tightens amid slumping economy, leaving many dependent on parents after graduation
Lee, a 29-year-old woman who gave only her family name, still lives with her family in Daegu because she cannot find work - partly because of the tightening job market in the slumping economy and also because of her age.... She is now too old. Most Korean job advertisements specify, "We need a woman under the age of 26," and Lee was unable even to submit her resume.

I wonder if this has anything to do with her living under and rebelling against a promoted sexual ignorance, that some scum later exploited. Would a prepared, empowered, sexually alert 15 yr old let a molesting creep touch her?
If her activity isn't a total made-up lie, it could even be a reaction to her having been raped. I don't think kids just sexually explode like that without some kind of major interference.
I wonder what Dan Savage would say. He's often spot-on about this sort of thing.
What a damn horrible story. |

The TV show in question is obviously just actors performing a show for old people who don't know any better. I'm sure that stuff happens, but come on, anyone can see these people aren't for real. Even that sappy piano and bad actor mother / daughter combo can't trick anyone under 60... I'd hope.
Reminded me of Jerry Springer, and we all know how real that was! |

Oh definitely...but much like the fights on Jerry Springer, it *used* to be real, until they ran out of little whores who'd come on tv. Now it's all fake.
HOWEVER, I'm from the south side of Chicago, sadly I know girls like this and even have a cousin whose had 5 kids before she was 28. Although she's a complete sweetheart, my cousin, I always figured there were some daddy issues or...something...that'd me her keep steppin' up to the bat like that.
Also, RealReality is correct in asserting that the same girls exist in Korea too, but, like in 1940's America, you'll never hear about it because they go to some distant relative, run away from home, or have an abortion. |

Well I don't want to start a peeing contest or anything, but I did hear about not one but two girls in my junior high school, growing up, who got pregnant at 12 and 13. (One carried the pregnancy, the other aborted.)And there was a lot of abuse going on in that neighborhood, too.

Well Korean girls, who knows, but for Korean women, I think if you're not getting your story from the Yongsan barracks, you're probably going to find that dating them is a much more conservative thing. He's right to point it out, but still they're as diverse in their dating and mating preferences as they are in personalities.
edit: I think the switch from real panelists to actors may've been prompted by Sally Jesse Raphael getting her a*s sued by a family after a gay love confession on one of her shows ended up with one shooting the other after the show. |
