My fiancee and I live in Budang and came bumbling across the store, ilovecookie.com yesterday. If you have not been to this store or heard about this store, it is a small store that is filled with many, many different foods from North America. The store is complete with crushed red pepper flakes, Bisquick pancake mix, Mrs. Butterworth syrup, frozen Hungry Jack waffles, to name a few.

Anyway, our elation escalated as we realized we had the ingredients to make tacos. Since we are from San Diego, California, part of our "American" diet includes Mexican food Smile, yummy! So from this magical store we purchased a block of Kraft chedder cheese, taco mix (I know!), sour cream, and tortillas. We had lettuce and tomatoes back at the apartment and Pace Salsa. We also purchased jalapeno refried beans from the Huckleberry Farms organic store.

So, last night, we had our first 'home cooked' meal since we arrived a few months ago and it was every bit the religious experience one could imagine! We love most Korean food and living in Bundang we have access to many western restaurants, but our meal last night was amazing.

Anybody else have this kind of "religious experience" with food while here in Kore?

Yeah, sorry man, but you can get all that stuff pretty easily in Korea. But if you ever find a place that sells the candles with the Virgin Mary on them, let me know.

I just found out "Bulgaris" is the Korean version of Yop, which I'd just recently started craving for no apparent reason.

Where can you find jalapeno refried beans? Only at that one store?

Is this store somewhere in Seoul, too? Seems quite ridiculous to only have one down in the Bundang. Huckleberry Farms is in Apgu.

I live just up the road from Bundang. Could you review the lesson in your text book about giving directions, then post very explicit directions to the store? (I mention reviewing direction giving because all to many post things like: Come up out of the subway and the store is over that-away a bit.)

And yes, the first time I made gingerbread here, I had a religious experience. Getting/making food from home is a key to survival here.

Huckleberry Farms is the only store I have seen jalepeno beans, they are 5500 won per can, but they are well worth it for our tacos. If you find them elsewhere though, let us all know!

I will have to go back there tomorrow in order to give accurate directions to the store, I will post them after that.

If you can find the Samsung car dealership on Seongnamdaero, not far from Jeongja station, then you are very close. The shop is in one of the courtyards of a mid-rise apartment complex behind the car dealership.

Another way of describing its location: Walk along the Jeongjadong street that has all the bakeries and cafes, heading south, with Park View Apts at your back. After you pass the Subway sandwich shop, take your first possible left into the apartment courtyard. The shop is right there ahead of you.
