| What's her name? She's on these comedy shows a lotm and has a commercial for laptops in which she wears a hanbok. Is that baby voice an attraction to Korean viewers? She's beautiful but I can't stand it when she speaks. |

There used to be a Korean teacher at my school, excellent English, assertative, confident.
Then she'd get on the phone with her boyfriend and put on this pouty, baby-talking act.
I couldn't stand it. |

Maybe it's Han Ga-In.
She's on a butt load of commercials, shilling for washing machines and veggie drinks, etc. She talks in this ridiculous little child's voice.
It drives my girlfriend crazy. She farkin' hates her so much.
I have to admit that the shtick of baby talking, no matter how good looking the girl is, gets freakin' annoying after about 10 seconds.

Do any of the girls mentioned above speak fluent english?
I come across "Star Golden Bell" sometimes on the telly and there's a girl who has to guess the word that the contestants are trying to tell her in their best english. She speaks korean and english (fluently I think) and has a pretty awful baby voice as well. She looks like a middle schooler, but is she one of the above people? |

| Yeah, I think I know the show you're talking about. It has half-celebrities sitting in a row, and thy describe the picture behind her in "English"/Korean? If that's the case, she's kind of cute, and based on her accent I'd say she speaks English fairly well. I don't think she's one of the one's pictured (or at least not the one talked about by the OP). |

Then maybe she's not beautiful? In general the visual attraction of East Asian women is they are adults that look like girls. Of course that fantasy falls apart once you actually get to know them and realize they're just women who look like girls.
The Koreans know that. And the baby voice is the Koreans laughing at themselves. It's a joke. Sure she's on a comedy show and now she's playing up the baby voice thing - makes sense. |
