I don't know travel date or anything like that, but does anyone know if I can obtain a visa in advance to Vietnam as a just incase? Because if anything were to happen I would just like to quickly buy a plane ticket and not have to wait a week or so for a Visa.

How much did it cost? I've been looking around online, and haven't come up with a figure yet.

Mine cost about 70K and be warned the visa officals are very surly.
You catch the number 2 green village bus from outside the chongro ymca up to the embassy.
Do a search on vietnam and you should find a thread with directions from there. |

I can't give you much detail because I had a Korean friend call for me, but everything was done through a travel agency in my case. So, you might be able to get it done when you get your tickets. I don't remember about the price because I had to pay a little more because I needed it within 2 days.

Xanadu travel agency in Itaewon can do the trick and answer your questions.
