Wow, I found a great place and it has lots of different stores. It has:
KFC
Starbucks
McDonalds
Lotteria
U.G.I.Z.
Dunkin Donuts
Baskin Robbins
A Pharmacy
A Korean book store
Some cheap clothing stores that have racks of 5,000 won t-shirts
Lots of Korean restaurants
And a movie theater
It's across the street from a fruit stand and a bus stop. It was very crowded. Do you need directions? |

Marginally related, but sincere request. Sorry for the newbie question, but if someone in my group of wandering nomadic rural ESL teachers hadn't even poked their feet into my side while our tribe slept in the tall ricepaddy grass after eating corn and roasting a hunted ajosshi outdoors here in the countryside, I wouldn't even have thought to wipe the condensation off my outdoor computer and hence not asked this question:
just what is U.G.I.Z?
Hold on! Let me get on my asbestos pants first! |

I googled it - ( U.G.I.Z. ) it seems to be some Korean clothing store -
http://www.ugiz.co.kr/ which is why i am surprised the OP thinks he/she has stumbled upon some TOP-secret wonderful NEW shopping area...
BUT HEY - if
a pharmacy.. ...............(usually 5 in every street where I live)
a KFC ............... (usually 1 on every street corner where I live)
Starbucks ............... (usually 1 on every-other street corner where I live)
McDonalds ............... (usually 1 on every-other street corner where I live)
Lotteria ............... (usually 3 on every-other street corner where I live)
Dunkin Donuts ...............(usually 1 on every-other street corner where I live)
Baskin Robbins ............... (usually 1 on every-other street corner where I live)
A Korean book store ............... (usually 3 in every street where I live)
Lots of Korean restaurants .........(usually 20 in every street where I live)
And a movie theater ........ (usually 1 just down the street from where I live)
and
Some cheap clothing stores that have racks of 5,000 won t-shirts - usually sold by every grandpa, grandma, and ajuma on every footpath where I live...
these things really made the OP so excited he/she had to post it here...
then I feel sorry for the OP... (especially as his/her name is MRS SEOUL )
what neighbourhood in Seoul doesn't have all those stores?
reminds me when I first came to Korea and I thought there was ONLY 1 MacDonalds in the WHOLE OF KOREA...
(At that time there were actually 5)... |

At the risk of putting words in the OP's mouth, I think that was the point of the post- that these things are everywhere. And that s/he is tired of the uniformity.
