|
|
I noticed they've finally ran the subway line out to Incheon. It looks like it runs out of the line 5 Kimpo stop. I think the northern run of Incheon line connects up with it as well.
Anyone taken it yet? |

Is it going all the way to the airport? I read a sign last month about some new stations opening up. |

The line opens on the 23rd. I return from Seattle on the 25th and will use it to get home. I'll report here on conditions. |

I took a subway from the city of Inchon (or Incheon as it is now written) to Suwon and man was that a long, boring ride. |

From what I understand, the travel time is actually longer than if you were to take a bus from Seoul Station. Way to go, Korea.
I'll still never forgive myself for paying double-fare for a first class ticket from downtown Shanghai to the airport. At 450 km/h, the ride lasted less than 10 minutes. |

The train is still expanding,. in another 2 years it will reach seoul station then you will be able to ride from seoul station to incheon with only one stop at gimpo airport. For now it only reaches Gimpo.
And its nowhere near as fast as Shanghai's maglev, that rocks. |

It's about fricken time! I'm in Incheon and my in-laws are a few stops west of Mokdong station. We're going to try to go the other way and see if it's any faster then taking the express train from Juan Station and transfering at Singil. |

Yeah, but it would be extremely useful if you live in Northern Incheon and have friends near Gimpo, or if you live on Yeonjeong island, you're no longer isolated etc..

They aren't showing it on the cyber station yet. I've got a map I downloaded somewhere showing it, but it is at home o my computer.
Maybe someone else will have it handy. If I remember correctly there was one stop between the end of the Incheon line and Gimpo Airport going east and then a few stops to the west before Incheon International Airport. |

did someone mention Incheon Airport?
When I used to work there we'd eat in the restaurants around that transportation centre, it's an amazing building.
On the Shanghai maglev though, it's not all it's cracked up to be- I ride it home from work every day and it stops well short of going into the actual city.
So basically you get on it, wait for 10 minutes whilst all of the tourists take photos, it starts, then 10 minutes later it drops you off on the outskirts of town, 9 subway stops away from anywhere good. |
