Does your school have halfday wednesdays? In Gimpo, classes go til 4th period, then after lunch classes are done.
Is this something common everywhere? And if you do have this huge break, what do you do with your time? And don't say you spend the whole day planning a lesson. It doesn't take 4 hours to prepare to teach "Where is York street". |

| Is this at an elementary, middle, or high school? I've never heard of it happening anywhere else. |

Wednesdays are just like any other day and I'm in Yong-in.
What to do with your time? Read a book, study korean, watch tv, take an online course....don't waste the free time that you have |

Yes, it was like that at my school last year. Sometimes, all of the teachers would go on a hike, or take a trip together to a grape farm or something like that. It was a lot of fun. |

| Haha, i just taught "where is York street" today too. 3/4 of the kids didn't get the concept of "behind", pretty weird really cos it's not like they are stupid or anything. |

| Wednesdays are Teacher Sports Days at my elementary school. So basically all the teachers (but me) get together and play badminton or volleyball or whatever. I THINK the day is shorter but I'm not sure.... |

Question...do you have this every Wednesday? If so, you are very lucky. My school has it the last Wednesday of the month. Of course I missed the first 2 because no one told me and the next thing you know, I am sitting there, it's 4:45 and no one is in the friggin' school.
I say you are lucky because they have me scheduled for 22 classes M,T, Th,F and nothing on Wed. I now hate Wednesdays. |

Hahaha....I'm not 100% sure what the schedule is this year. I wish I had your schedule....I have 29 classes M-F. If I only had 22 and a whole day off, I could get so much reading done for my online classes |

| Well, most of the teachers have a half-day here on Wednesdays(at a public elementary school): no classes after lunch. My former co-teacher has to teach an English class at a neighboring school, but that's the exception. Work stops so we can play volleyball, haha. It's nice . . . it's the only chance I have to run to the post office, bank, etc. I can step out for 2 hours or so, but we're all expected to show up at the gym to play volleyball (exceptions made for the elderly and pregnant). |

Funny you should mention it...
I just heard that this Wednesday was a half day in this small town's public schools because of teacher-parent conferences.
I recall a wednesday or two ago was test day.
Maybe it's a rotating gap to do various such activities? |

| Its a half day every wednesday. Some teachers just disappear for a few hours and come back around 4pm. This one guy brought in a plastic model kit and just sat there for a few hours putting it together on his desk. |
