My T-Money card doesn't work on eB machine buses. From what I've read, eB is basically UPass.
Can I just go to a convience store and buy a UPass card? Just traveling around Gyonggi-do and Seoul, which card is better to have, the T-Money or the UPass? |

Hunt around and you can get T-cards/phone accessories that work on both systems.
My wife has one that works on buses in Gyeonggi and Seoul as well as the subway. She got it from the lady at the newspaper kiosk in Namum (Suwon) but they can be bought at lots of places in Gyeonggi. |

Thanks. I didn't know if there was a specific location you had to go to in order to get them. I'll just poke my head into marts and convenience stores. I have a T-Money card in my wallet but it won't work on the yellow local buses. If the UPass works in Gyeonggi-do and for Seoul subway/buses then I'll switch to that. |

My wife's T-money thingy is blue and green and not the pink card (if that helps you look). It is T-money and it does work on the yellow buses in Seongnam, Suwon, Suji and Yongton as well as the subway system.
Perhaps get a Korean co-worker to write you a note or tell you where the closest one to you is? |

Thanks, I got the info.
I think card your wife has is the old eB T-Money card. Those are not being sold anymore. Those cards worked in eB readers also. The pink T-Money card is new and works in Seoul and at other places like Kyobo bookstore and K-Rail I believe. It doesn't work in local buses in Gyonggi-do. The local ones are the small yellow ones that only run a short distance. That card is something that they are trying to implement but its been slow going because,
UPass is still around. aka eB card. The UPass works on all buses in Gyonggi-do, Buses in Seoul, and subways in Seoul. I think UPass is the superior transportation card because of the the number of places that accepts it. |

Mine is blue and has both eB and T-Money on it. I have never had a problem using it on any bus. |
