Hi.

My visa was due to expire on the 26th of April, but I'm scheduled to work until the 15th of May. So, my boss and i went to immigration to get my visa extended for a month.

Everything went pretty smoothly. Apparently it has all been taken care of and I have until the 17th of May now. However, the immigration official didn't write or print anything pertaining to this in my passport or on my visa, and instead simply wrote '2007.5.17' on the back of my ARC in black vivid pen.

Is this normal? Do they have me on computer file or something so that I can prove I had my visa extended when I get to the international departure terminal in May? Just seems a little slack and dodgy to me...

What should my visa and passport say?

Thanks for any help!

They did the same with my ARC when I signed on to a different school after my contract. Except, I have some writing on the back.

Your oomputer file has been updated and that is what they look at when you exit at the airport.

The notation on your card is just for the convenience of those who don't have immediate access to a computer terminal.

You are fine - no worries, it is standard procedure.

Ah, great, that's good to know.
Thanks so much! Smile

Mmm, the lack of writing had me curious, but it seems it's all par for the course. Cheers!
