I have loads of DVDs I boughbt with me from England, and the schoo, have a cpu in the flat - however, the computer will not play UK Region DVDs or American DVDs. Anyone enlighten me on what is happening with this?

You can change the region that your DVD player is reading in most media players. Just find an "options" setting, and you should be able to reset it.

Do buy your DVD's in SE Asia, Indonesia, the Phillipines, Taiwan and SK which all have the same region code (3)

'Region Free' is a computer program that bypasses DVD regioning. Just download it, install it and just leave it running in the background. It automatically nullifies all regioning, so you can watch all of your DVDs regardless of where you bought them and without having to change your region settings.

Go to filehippo.com and download mediaplayerclassic. It plays anything.

cool i didnt know that
i use vlc media player...it plays everything too

Loads do. Xine, MPlayer..many more
