Huh. Good, vapid bar music.
I like how the girls whimper "Destiny's Child..." in the middle of the song. I bet Beyonce hollers her own name when she humps. |

Did somebody say mash-ups?
What's the fugazi/child track called? 'Waiting woman? Independent Room? Saved to disc now.
My contribution: Missy Elliot vs. The Cure - I'm Really Hot Hot Hot!!! |

yeah but the cool thing is how well it works with a fugazi song written 10-12 years earlier and in a polar opposite genre/world. basically the same song structure.
i believe the 'mash-up' is entitled 'independent room'. lyrically, it kinda tips the hat of independence to fugazi as well, wouldn't y'all think? they've never been no record company's jailpunk. |

I suspect that McKaye and the boys would approve.
Sorry, I was being facetious, but I meant 'vapid' in a good way--I listen to 'Stereo Total' and 'Puffy' and 'Miss Kittin.' I LOVE vapid. I don't want people to be all serious and thought provoking all the time.
Not puffy combs, btw. |

...I would have to (strenuously) disagree. This is a band that refused to sell t-shirts, or even carry copies of their albums to sell at live shows. Beyonce et al are what, the epitome of corporate music.
...Having said that, McKaye does have a long-standing love affair with Motown + R&B (as described in the "Instrument" DVD). |

i think they'd approve just because it's a fresh, funny idea that sounds good. |
