| I used to work in Korea but I left due to conflicts with the school. I didn't think about getting a letter of release and now I am back in my home country. I assume the hakwon subsequently fired me after leaving and therefore my visa is automatically cancelled, right? Doesn't the school 'own' your visa so if you get let go, the visa becomes null and void, right? So my question is that since the visa is technically cancelled, do I still need a LOR in hand to get another E-2 from a different school? |

Look mate, given that you have made not only dumb posts, of which some, including myself, have been guilty of, you have also managed to post about how all teachers in Korea are...well... you know!
Anyway, you have bumped this thread twice, so maybe you really want to come back and give it another crack. Who knows!
To the best of my knowledge, and I may be wrong, you are basically stuffed for 12 months, atleast. You did a runner, so the old boss will report it to immi and you may go on some kind of black list.
There are many more informed people on 'Daves' than myself, regarding this issue. I would also suggest searching other threads.

| i doubt u are on a black list since those dont exist, and even if they did, the director would have to do so much paperwork for it, none of them do it. If you were fired u do not need a LOR and can probably come back anytime. If the director reported that u did a runner, u have to wait until the visa expires even if it was canceled |

What if the employer didn't do anything at all? If they didn't report a runner or a firing, would I still be able to come back? Also, getting back to my other post, what does a LOR have to include on it and can it be scanned and emailed? Thanks |
