To allievate bordom at work, my coworkers and I studying/reviewing the vocab list for the GREs. Although there is a math section and essay section, we have decided to focus on the vocab at work, starting with the most common word on the test. We try to use the words when speaking to each other between breaks. Brain Candy.

Does anybody want me to post the words here on a daily basis? After about a month of ten words a day, the 300 most common words will be reviewed and used.

Forget it! I already took the GRE's and once was enough. Why would I care about vocabulary? It's not like I'm an English teacher. Oh, wait . . .

On a related note, does anyone have contact info for the test center at Kyunggi U. in Seoul?

Yes, I've tried the search function numerous times here, and I keep getting a blank white page.

I'm interested in taking the test in June...anyone else?

Gee I already knew those.

Let's try:

acarpous - effete; no longer fertile; worn out

apotheosis - deification; glorification to godliness

arabesque - a complex ornate design

I had vaguely heard of it. Just in passing and never before I came to Korea. After a brief bit of googling can I surmise that it is a kind of general knowledge test used for entrance into North American, or only American, post-grad courses?

As far as I know, it's not used where I grew up. UK. That's why I'd never really heard of it.

Just to reiterate: there are over 3,500 words on the list; these are just
the most frequent ones.
