|
|
I want to get a regular physical check-up, and maybe a yearly "women's" appt., so can I just go to a hospital or should I try and find a doctor? Which place would be cheaper? Also, I know I asked about this previously, but I forgot. Do I need a script to get medication at a pharmacy? Can I just walk in and get birth control pills?
I have national health insurance. How does that work? Do I have to pay a co-pay? Thanks for any assistance! |

Small hospitals here are more like a walk in clinic back home.
Walk in, show your medical card and they will stick you in front of a doctor who can speak at least modest English.
For an OB/Gyne just look for the sign that says womens hospital. The international hospitals and clinics simply overcharge for the same service you get in the rest of the hospital.
There is a thread or two here about lady doctors with names, phone numbers and addresses. Hunt back a bit.
You can get BC pills without a script. Just walk into a pharmacy and ask. |

I don't know about that particular one. My wife have used the Samsung Womens hospital in Yeongtong and there are a chain of Cheil Womens hospitals around (she uses the one here in Bundang now that we are here).
She has liked the doctors and service in both. BTW, she is NOT Korean, she does not speak Korean and yes, I know it makes a difference.
(for the other readers out there). |

I am sick with, I think, strep throat. I live in Daechi, and I saw signs to Severance hospital, so I think I am going there. Is that a bigger one, and do you think I will have to wait a while? will it be expensive? Can I get meds there? |
