Grand Canyon glass Skywalk opens
The project has caused divisions within the Hualapai tribe
The Grand Canyon's Skywalk has been inaugurated with hundreds of invited guests getting stunning views over the canyon through its glass walkway.
Rising 4,000ft (1,220m) from the canyon's floor and 70ft (20m) beyond its rim, the Skywalk is being described as an engineering first.
The Hualapai Indians, who own the site, are hoping to attract visitors to a high unemployment area.
But some tribal members say this is a desecration of sacred ground.
Former astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin was among the first to go onto the walkway to join Hualapai leaders for a brief ceremony.
How the Skywalk measures up to other constructions
"I felt wonderful, not exactly floating on air ... but a vision of hope for the future," he said afterwards, quoted by Reuters news agency.

No, Jinju, the Grand Canyon is in Japan right next to Osaka. You will find after you drink a few glass of sake and take the train and go three stops. |

You sure did have some of that sake. I think you are thinking of someone else. There are only 2 posts about Poland on this page.
But hey whatever the sake tells you, brother, is what it tells you...lol |

Is that what made Jinju change from an informative, witty user to a bitter one line hit 'n' runner? He's been drinking too much?
To the topic: The thing looks 100% cheesy. But I understand it's built on the reservation land of a particularly poor Indian tribe and hey. If you're in NV, you can't exactly open a casino. Whatever it takes. I hope it brings the tribe some good coin. |
