Went to Busan on Saturday. Went to Taco Loco (pretty far from where we were staying, but I needed some tacos). IT WAS CLOSED? 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon? Are they only open for dinner?
And paradise casino sucks. |

It is small and dark and depressing.
I'm from jersey, so maybe i'm spoiled by atlantic city, which in itself is a pretty depressing place, but the casinos are nice.
So Taco Loco is closed for lunch?
And where is this Taco Al Pueblo place?
Thanks. |

It's located near the Megabox. Go out the rightside of the sFunz ("sponge") shopping mall entrance, at the 7-Eleven side, and head toward the beach. You'll see KT Plaza on your immediate right and two blocks further a "Beauty Zone" on your right. Stop at the "Beauty Zone" and go down the alley on the left
I just copied these directions from a friend's post. I'm not right in Haeundae but I've been to this place a lot... I just don't know exactly how to tell you to get there. It's in an alley and really small but clean. The dude who runs it is named Won-Tae and he's very nice. The burritos are huge but aren't folded the same way as normal burritos.... they are very delicious though! |

I hate how late places open on the weekend. Hongdae is a ghost town until about 3pm on Saturdays. |

I'll have to check with afsjesse to see if this is the same plae he was recommending as well... I haven't had a burrito since I left the States over a year ago and am craving them sometimes... they had what they called a burrito at a buffet I was invited to but... yeah, not a burrito, I don't even know what the hell you'd call that thing. |

Someone told yesterday that Taco Loco is Seomyeon (in Busan) is closed for good. I talked to one of the staff members about two months ago and she said she thought they'd be closed by the summer. They were open all day, every day but they were busy only on Friday and Saturday nights.
Alternative directions for Won Tae's shop, Taco Al Puebla, are as follows:
Go to the Haeundae stop and go out either exit 3 or exit 5 and walk toward the beach. You will turn left at the first Main road (not small side-street). There is a glasses shop on the corner (possibly a Family Mart, as well, but I'm not 100% on that). While walking all the way down this road, you will pass SAVE ZONE Mall on your left. The road ends in a T-intersection, but if you just keep walking straight across you will see an alleyway on the other side of the street. Walk up the alley, WonTae's shop is on your right hand side.
He makes a delicious burrito with cilantro. I go there at least once a week. In the summer time, be prepared to wait as his shop is really small.
As for casinos, try the Lucky 7 casino at the Lotte Hotel in Seomyeon. It's at least twice as big. I, too, hate Paradise casino as it's tiny. |

LOL at hating a casino because it's small.
Are the rules player friendly?
Do you get free stuff? |

I went to Taco Loco soon after it first opened. The food was delicious. There was free guacomole. There were a couple of friendly Mexican guys behind the counter running the kitchen.
I went back several times. At first it stayed great. Then the changes started. First, the free gucamole was watered down. Then it disappeared, replaced by more cheap salsa. Then the Mexican guys disappeared, replaced by Koreans. Last time I went back, the food barely resembled Mexican food. My bf and I decided we'd never go back.
So you may have lucked out that they were closed. In my opinion, it would have been a waste of your money anyway.
Has anybody else noticed this happening at a lot of restauarants in Korea? They're great when they first open. Then as soon as they get a little business, everything starts changing. You really have to look to find the good ones that have been around for a while - but stay good. |

Honestly a better bet is to find the ingredients and make your own. Many of the Mexican restaurants I've gone to in Korea have Koreanized whatever they sell. |
