Good choice!!!

You'll not regret your choice. Despite some opinions to the contrary I have found the V43 to be an excellent piece of kit. I've had mine for 6 months now and it has worked flawlessly. The range of uses it has is endless.

For example, on a 2 week vacation in June I filled up my camera's memory card. No problem. Connect the camera to the V43 with a USB cable and I could store all the pics and wipe the camera's SD card.

Korean-English-Korean dictionary? Yep.

Calculator
Calendar
E-book
Portable hard drive
PDA
MP3 player
Video in all formats
FM radio
GPS
DMB
Games....I don't know much about the gaming function but I know its possible.

Yeah, I am really happy with it so far. Makes the subway rides go so much faster that's for sure.

Is there anything out there that is equivalent to the V43 but smaller? An OS on it would be useful.

The Creative Zen range look good. A couple of their models are 3.7 inch screens.

But they don't really do as much as the V43. For many advanced V43 users the big advantage is that it uses the Linux open-source OS. This means anyone with Linux skills can write any kind of program for the V43. So the interface and applications can be forever changing. I don't know much about all that but I can see how it can be a great advantage over PMP's with inflexible software.

Masimaro.....I've never even tried games on the V43. I decided I would only really be into video and music on the road. I don't like playing games on a small screen. It's too much of a step-down from my quite good home PC. It feels too fiddly. I think I would have bought a PSP if I was into portable gaming.

Thanks eamo. Yeah I think these guys are the next pocketPCs with bigger hard drives. The V43 is great but slightly too big and heavy. I know there are lighter ones somewhere.

I love my 2GB mp3 player which I use everyday to channel data, but I really need something bigger to do the job and act as an PIM too.

I tried out Streetfighter 2 on a SNES emulator, graphics look pretty good.
Think I'll go ahead and buy the joystick thing. They also have a gameboy advance, Neo Geo, original NES emulators for it.
