|
|
Can anyone tell me where laptop power DC power supplies are sold in Busan or general purpose multi-voltage DC adapters?
I am needing a 15 volt 4 amp DC power supply for my laptop and find Seoul is a long way to go from Changwon, near Busan, on a rainy day this Saturday. Nothing is for sale in the line of parts, any more than mice, USB memory, and speakers in Changwon, except new computers at premium prices.
Your time and information is greatly appreciated. |

There is a fairly decent electronics district around the Gaya subway station (2 stops west from Soemyeon on Line 2) in Busan. You may be able to find what you are after there... I'm fairly new to Busan, so maybe someone else has a better idea. Here is a link to a Busan subway map, if you need it:

| Thanks, I will go look tomarrow. I am hoping to snag what I need early and go enjoy the rest of the day without an all day wild goose chase like I did in Changwon a few Saturdays already looking for a laptop power supply. Funny thing how Korea can be so difficult when it comes to looking to purchase a specific item or walking around asking questions. Probably a bit more doable with the options you have in the big cities, along with more English speakers. |

Where did you find it, just out of curiosity?
EDIT: nm, read it in the other thread. A little slow and fuzzy of brain today... |

At the Myeongnyun-dong station directly behind the Outback Steakhouse. As soon as I walked in the computer parts place, I talked to the small shop keeper 1st on the left and showed him my laptop and they fixed me up with a new power supply for 33,000 won in 5 minutes. Very friendly and speedy service. Perfect! Did not make it to Gaya, but I will have to check it out too next weekend as I am looking for a Canon Powershot A630 digicam.
It should also be noted that this place appears to be a great place to get all sorts of PC parts and maybe even build your own system minus the language barrier present, assuming you do not speak Korean as I do not. Being that technical computer stuff is universal, you can get anything you need here despite language barrier. And it's a small and convenient place full of friendly computer technician/sales people. Better yet, bring a Korean speaker if you are looking to get a computer or have one built. I wonder if you could build one and then install your American Windows XP on it? Probably, but I can't guarantee that it would work, just think it might.
Thanks again, |
