Is a license required to drive a <50cc scooter?
Also, anybody know of a place where a good deal can be made when buying one.
Thanks |

Half the people will say you need a plate and a license, and the other half will tell you just over a 100cc or 125cc. Quite frankly, everyone on this board really doesn't know and I think the powers that be in the DMV here, are more misinformed than the posters here at Dave's. I have a 100cc scooter and a Korean license. My buddy has a 125cc motorcycle, with license plate andinsurance but no motorcycle endorsement. They didn't even ask for it. Nobody knows. Just go for it and if the shiit hits the fan, plead ignorance. |

If you ride a 50cc scooter/bike, you do not need: insurance, or plate.
You do need: a Korean's CAR driver's license OR a bike license upto 125cc.
If you ride a 50-125cc scooter/bike, you need: a plate and insurance and a Korean's CAR driver's license OR the 1st stage bike license upto 125cc.
If you ride a 125-xxxcc scooter/bike, you need: a plate and insurance and the 2nd stage bike license for plus 125cc bikes.
try www.bikemart.co.kr for starters. |
