I am not a Texans fan.
If you are a Texans fan though, how pissed are you? They never built a good offensive line to protect David Carr and thus, he never got a chance to prove himself to be legit. Next, you pass on Reggie Bush! WTF! Talk about missing the boat. And now the next brilliant move by the Texans front office, sign an unproven backup to a 6 year 48 million dollar deal to replace Carr. They even say Schaub is not near as mobile as Carr, so good luck with that.
So, I am sorry Texans fans. I thought it was tough being a Dolphins fan the last few years, but sheesh, c'mon Houston, use your heads! |

Matt Schaub is a very capable west coast offense quarterback. He is not Michael Vick in terms of mobility but he is a very accurate passer and makes very few mistakes. Many fans in Atlanta actually wanted him to be the starter over Vick. |

I wouldn't judge the Mario pick yet. He showed flashes last year. If he developed into a top flight end, he would be more valuable than a top flight reciever/rb combo.
He was very good in run support last year and if he can develop better pass rush, he will be a great player. |

Maybe the Texans will draft a place kicker in the first round this year. Get the best kicker out of the rookies, because field goals are the only way they are gonna score points. |

I say it wasn't all Carr's fault but hey, Schuab was available and the Texans took him.
I have to agree about Vick. He's the highest paid player in the NFL (ten years, $130 million) yet he hasn't done much to warrant that. He's earned the name "coach killer" for a reason: he can't stay patient enough in the pocket and opts to run a la Randall Cunningham formerly of the Philly Eagles. |

I'm not a Houston Texans fan, but here are some truths. The Texans have problems. They have no offensive line, so it really doesn't matter who handles the ball- they're going down. The QB and RB's will look bad behind a paper-thin offensive line.
Instead of Reggie Bush, they SHOULD have drafted Vince Young- the next superstar in the NFL.
Another problem they have is that they share a division with the Colts. That's a tough mountain to climb to not only make the playoffs, but get home advantage.
Vick would rather have great stats and go 8-8 than give up stats and money and win the Super Bowl. He's not the only pro athlete who feels that way, but it does explain why a great talent will never play in the big game- the team comes second to his ego. |
