In light of some good, recent discourse, I would like to create this forum in hopes that people can share their views regarding what they feel are the best manufacturers of specific computer equipment regardless of price. I'll start:
Video Cards
XFX
BFG
Mainboards
Asus
Gigabyte
Intel
Sound Cards
Soundblaster
Processors (for gaming purposes)
Intel
Power Supplies
Ultra
Cases
Don't know.
Memory
CORSAIR
Air Cooling
Zalman
Thermal Grease
Arctic Silver 5

| You could probably add Antec and Zalman in the "power supply" category. |

My personal choices for additions...
VID CARDS -> EVGA, built by ATi
MOBO -> DFI (great overclockers)
PSU -> Fortron/ Sparkle
CASES -> Antec (Lanboy/ P180/ 900)
RAM -> OCZ/ G-Skill
Air Cooling -> Thermalright/ Arctic Cooling |

Motherboards: I don't like Abit or Gigabyte. The Abit had weird USB issues (this was a long time ago) and the sound on the Gigabyte was crackly. No excuses for that. I'm currently running an ASRock and it's been pretty solid for a budget board.
Hard disk: I'm running a Samsung and a Seagate. No problems with either.
Video: I'm running an HIS x1950 Pro. Has some weird issues that I think may be due to bad cables but haven't had time to troubleshoot properly. Other than that, good card.
DVD: BenQ DL burner. Great burner. No compatibility issues as of yet.
Power: Hiper 580 Watt PSU that I recently got. It was pretty cheap (for a 500+ watt psu in Korea), and I read that it was a decent brand. No problems yet.
Fan: Using a Zalman atm, seems ok.
Case: Generic case. Hasn't fallen apart. Verdict: Ok. |
