Hi, can anyone recommend a site for downloading English movies and TV programmes with Korean subtitles?
I generally use bittorrents and sometimes get a SRT file which is subtitles but it's always Japanese or Spanish. I'm specifically looking for TV programmes to watch with my other half and to improve my Korean.
Cheers for the help.

Just download your tv or movies from anywhere.

You can get Korean subtitles at: http://gom.ipop.co.kr/
Search with the 자막 quantifier (default).

Some of the very popular TV shows are available, such as Lost, Desperate housewives, Friends and others.

You can also try a search at: http://www.havy.co.kr/zboard/zboard.php?id=pds_movie

Korean subtitles are usually available as .smil files. Just name them exactly what your video files are named and they should load up with the video.

Edit: you'll probably need a codec pack like Klite or CCCP (recommended) installed.

my wife and i use something called folder plus. your SO might know about it. you have to pay for it, but it's just a couple of hundred won for a full length movie. anyway... we've downloaded all of LOST on that, as well as a bunch of movies and other tv shows. all with subtitles. plus, it only takes a couple of seconds to download something. good luck.

Just want to say THANK U.

I have never had a problem getting the movies, but was limited on what Kr subs I could find. That GOM site has anything I needed.

The wife and i will watch SAW 3 and Silent Hill tonight. Thanks

i've downloaded some smi files from the ipop site (perfume: the story of a murderer), and when playing the movie with GOM player the subtitles appear in a borked format, ie. with upside down question marks, pound symbols, fractions, mathematical symbols and accented vowels.

it seems the smi files themselves contain the messed up font. why aren't they displaying in korean? and how do i make them display in korean? what settings do i need to change?

So how exactly do you get them to load with a particular video and display?

Control panel---->regional and language options---->advanced------> language for non-unicode programs. Select Korean.

If your SO is Korean, check out www.wedisk.co.kr. It's a Korean pay site with loads of movies, tv shows, etc. Every video comes with a matching subtitle file. Oh, and even though it's a pay site, it's still dirt cheap. 100 won/gigabyte. Yes, per gigabyte. Quality is generally very good, except of course on movies that are "now playing" which are generally cams.
