| I want to do a project with my students where they have to design a new flag/crest/shield on the computer. What free programs do you think would be good for that? Got any ideas for something like this? Thank you |

I don't know if you'll like this idea, but they could design a flag in PowerPoint.
They could start with a blank screen and drop in different shapes and then apply colors. |

Yea, that was my fallback. Can they get detailed with that, or is it just a triangle here, a circle there, etc. |

It depends on their ppt skills. If your class has a beam projector you could show them how to do it. It's possible to make a cool looking flag in ppt. |

| Yea, it's for a WebQuest I am designing. I think I will go with GimpShop, which looks pretty good. |
