That's why you should always look at an LCD before buying it off of the internet.
Internet shopping has made some people lazy. It either looks good or it doesn't. |

QFT. Especially in regards to any type of display. I would never, never, ever buy a display (monitor/ tv) without actually seeing the unit up close and in person, with several different dvd's in hand to test it out. Everyone's opinion in displays differs, thats why you can't just trust someone else's judgement or online review. |

What is the difference between Samsung and host of other companies like IBM or Apple? They all use foreign parts for gawd sake. |

I've taught engineers from Samsung and I have a friend who currently does research and development in Lg/Philips LCD in Gumi.
If you buy a Sony LCD, you're actually buying a samsung LCD in a Sony box. Samsung makes more money selling their top quality LCD's to Japanese manufacturers. If you read through that link that was posted by the op, you'll see that people were complaining about Samsung LCD's that they got on the cheap. Ie. for their low end lcd's they take another manufacturers screen and put it in a Samsung box. |

Korean crap? CLB, it really doesn't matter that much where you order your PC hardware from. Most of the components come from a handful of factories and many "name brands" don't even manufacture their own products.
Furthermore, many products come from the same factory. Sometimes the difference between "Kill-a-lot Ultra VGA" and "El Cheappo" is a different sticker and price tag. I admit that some expensive name brands may have a tad better quality control and warranty, though. |

Hi SeoulFinn,
CLB? Is that me? If it is, I will be happy to answer:
Agreed, most items come from the same factory, though, not the entire set (i.e. on a graphics card, the GPU may come from one factory while the heatsinks, board, etc. come from another). However, I am yet to see a Korean brand ANYTHING (in regards to PC's) outperform/outlast the top dawgs out there except for cpu fan cooling; Korea does make some nice fans . Here, I will set up a small competition and you guys decide:
BFG 7900GTX vs. Evertop 7900GTX
Intel 975xbx Main board vs. ANY GIGABYTE board
Samsung (their best brand of memory) DDR2 @ 800mhz vs. CORSAIR OCZ DDR2 @ 800MHZ.
Now, bring the pain.
P.S. Make sure to take into account the mass volume sold to "gamers" and "high-end" users around the world. Check to see what THEY put into their systems. |

Who really gives a crap about what you think of Samsung. Everything is made in China anyways so why are you even complaining? If you don't like it then don't buy it. You sound ridiculous.
"Hey, look at me. I ordered something online and it sucked when I got it." Yeah, like thats NEVER happened to anyone in the world before. |

Hey Pkang,
There is no need to jump all over the OP. THis isn't the general, current, job, or off-topic forum. Believe it or not, we are ALL civil to one another here. Also, we try to help each other out. Furthermore, if we have a difference of opinion, we debate about it; we don't argue or result to name calling. So, if you want to jump in with your two cents worth, go for it. Just don't come on here slinging mud at everyone. That is for the cretans that can't back up the filth that comes out of their mouths or those that rely on mere conjecture and hearsay as a source of "credibility". Anyways, welcome!
