The Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) is a proposed network of privately funded, limited access toll roads to be built throughout Texas. This huge project will encompass 4000 miles of toll ways, with 1.200 foot corridors, which will include separate lanes for passenger vehicles and large trucks. It will also include railway lines for freight and commuter trains, along with broadband and telecommunication services, oil, gas, and water lines.

The TTC is part of an agenda to further integrate the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, a broader plan to further advance the Security and Prosperity Partnership agreement into a North American Union. The TTC would become the first leg of a NAFTA Superhighway that would go through the heartland of America all the way to Canada. The link from the Mexican border to Oklahoma is set to be the highest priority.

Presentational hopeful Ron Paul from Texas speaking of the TTC states, One principal player is a Spanish construction company which plans to build the highway and operate it as a toll road. He also says that the ultimate goal is not just a superhighway, but an integrated North American Union.

The Spanish Company Cintra Zachry LP is financing the project and will then lease and operate it as a toll road. Some sections will be newly constructed, while other already paid for freeways would be converted into toll roads. Charging tolls for roads that have already been paid for with tax dollars, is criminal in itself. Furthermore, the selling of infrastructure to foreign corporations amounts to surrendering our sovereignty.

Opposition to the TTC is growing. A huge protest against the project was held last month in Austin, Texas. ...
