Well, I'm in Daejeon most weekends to see my girlfriend, and while we never go drinking....

This past weekend I was greeted by 8-10 great guys all sitting on the stoop along the main drag in the club/market/downtown area, just around the corner from FeelSoGood coffeeshop. They were, to a man, drinking from cans of Hite and the like, laughing, out for a good time with the lads. They all greeted me like I was their long-lost baby brother, despite never having met me. Good sorts--even the one who was more interested in my girl than me (can't blame him--great ongdongi, that girl).

In any case, one Saturday night spend wandering this area and you'll run into lots of weiguksaram in groups.

Sorry I wasn't more help, but it's more than you'd got so far....

I've only visited Daejeon a few times, but "Watermelon Sugar" (ڼ) is one of the friendliest bars I've ever been to.

J-Rock near the 'downtown' Galleria department store is a good bar. Just about any other english teacher in Daejeon should be able to give you directions

haha, i remember you! sorry i think i might have been the guy more intersested in your girl, cant really remember! Laughing but was she wearing a plaid skirt? that was part of a game, sorry! anyway, a great night was had by all outside the mcdonalds, even the manager came to say gday to see if a good time was being had!

in answer to the op, there is the zoo bar, down the street from mcdonalds down town, thats usually crankin on a friday or sat.

also for a more relaxed atmospher, there is the santa clause bar, in kundong, one door down from the loteira down the in the basement. crankin onb a wed due to half price drinks from 8-10.

and lucky strike on the last friday of the month, i think the 29th? 20,000 all you can drink. very good street party to be had this week. anyway, come say gday sometime,

crazy

If you want a bit of a different atmosphere from the typical foriegner bar, and you like dancing, try Xenia (I think that's how you spell it) which is a dance club located in the basement of the Riviera Hotel in Yuesong, Daejeon. It's a bit pricey, you pay for your table for the entry fee (I forget exactly how much it is, but I remember it was a little expensive) so its good to have about 4 people in your group to even out the cost. It's an all-night dance club with a pretty good DJ and floor show, mainly Koreans though (I think that the night I went, my friend and I were the only ones who were foriegners).

Other then that, I'd definately recommend the Santa Claus for a nice relaxing night out of music and pool games. Smile
