Since the US-led invasion four years ago, the fifth estate has covered Iraq and the war on terror from virtually every angle--the military, media, intelligence, politics--revealing aspects of the story that you didn't find anywhere else. Now, as the White House warns about the latest threat in the region, this time from Iran, it's worthwhile looking back to examine the deception, suspect intelligence, even lies, that convinced the world of the rightness of targeting Saddam Hussein.

So what's your point, Dr. Hite?

We shouldn't react with concern to Iranian deception as long as the Bush administration is in power? Even the Russians, never ones to put principle and the welfare of others ahead of their narrow financial interests, seem to be backing off on Iran (and not just because the latter is delinquent in its back payments).

I'll admit that the absence of WMDs in Iraq might give some the perception that this is just more crying wolf. But Iran is not a wolf; it's a hyena.

Aren't all wars caused by greed and begin with a deception?

I see.

OH is either too lazy or unable to argue against a potential Iran war, so he is bringing up the lies that went out before the Iraq conflict.

Oh, I see you guys are to stupid to see that the point was only about the Iraq war and had nothing to do with Iran.

Buttercups!

See its easy to just introduce any old topic when the stated topic is Iraq.

Gumdrops!

And I love how talking about the lies that made this war happen is just so blase, I mean thats so 2006.
