OK, so I brought an electric shaver with me from the US. It has one of those heavy power adaptor plugs that plugs into the wall and can seperate from the actual shaver (power bricks?)
It's made to take US power 120~ and change it to 12V
Well, I forgot all about the Korean power difference and plugged it directly into the outlet with a plug adaptor. It worked for about 5 minutes, then died.
What I don't know is this: Did I kill the electric shaver, or just destroy the power adaptor? The big brick part of the power adaptor and the metal plug were very hot, the the shaver seamed ok...
And, if it is possible to still use the shaver, what do I need to convert the electricity (and where can I find a new plug??)
AND ~ if I am using all the wrong words for the parts of the plug and adaptor and what-not, I'm sorry. Please correct me ^_^
Thanks! |

Nerds like to call them wall-warts.
Go buy another one and test it. If it doesn't work then it's fucked.
If it does then you are good to shave your glory trail again. |

I would get a hold of one of the larger adaptors in a store here in Korea. I have one and have never had any problems using the few electronic items I brought with me.
My guess is you only broke the adaptor not the shaver itself. Hopefully that ends up being the case. |
